Liverpool Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (LECMC)

The Liverpool ECMC is a collaboration between the University of Liverpool (Liverpool Clinical Trials Centre and Good Clinical Practice Laboratory Facility) and The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust. ECMC status was awarded to Liverpool in 2017 and is funded by Cancer Research UK and the National Institute for Health Research.

Liverpool Good Clinical Practice Laboratories (GCP Labs)

Established in 2009, the Good Clinical Practice Laboratory Facility (GCPLab) has extensive experience of acquiring, storing and analysing high quality human biological samples linked to anonymised clinical trials. The GCPLab aims to produce transparent, reliable, reproducible results, whilst also giving traceability, auditability and accountability. The GCPLab works to defined quality standards, incorporating regulatory requirements which govern translational research.

Packing of Perianal Abscess Cavities - full study now in set-up

The Phase III Randomised Controlled Trial assessing the impact of postoperative Packing of Perianal Abscess Cavities in now funded and in set-up.  Packing changes are very painful for patients that have undergone this procedure.  The primary aim of this study is to assess the pain of wound cavity packing changes versus no wound cavity packing at all, as well as the wound cavity healing rate of both techniques as a secondary aim.
